It’s hard to measure work life balance…Personally, I like to talk about life work balance instead of work life balance. I don’t want to build my life around work, I want to balance my work in my life. Work life balance for me means having flexible working hours and enough time for both work and personal life, such as hobbies, relationships, self-care etc. But everybody has different preferences and priorities, so it’s important to define what work life balance means for you.
I used to work long hours in a job that was fun but made me exhausted because of everything on my plate. I was always tired and felt like I never had enough time for anything. My relationships were suffering, I wasn’t taking care of myself and my health. Then one day, I decided to do something about it.
I started working on my own business, which would give me the flexibility to work from home and set my own hours. Once I made that change, everything shifted. My work became more fulfilling because it was no longer exhausted, and my personal life flourished because I had more time for hobbies and relationships.

Now I have more time for the things that matter to me, and my business is doing better than ever.

This is my most important key to work life balance as a small business owner. System stacking and streamlining the process of running my business, allow me more time to focus on what matters most and have a better work-life balance.
As a social media manager I use tools like templates, client management systems, scheduling tools, an AI writing assistant and keyword research tools to save time and be more organized.
Job satisfaction
Feeling fulfilled and happy in your job can have a significant influence on work-life balance. If you feel satisfied with the work you do, it will be easier to separate from work when necessary and enjoy your personal life without feeling guilty or stressed about unfinished tasks.
Lack of designated workspace
Having a calm (and preferably quiet) work environment and a designated workspace in your home can help create boundaries between work and personal life. Without this physical boundary, it’s easy to find yourself working all hours of the day without proper breaks or rest.
Not setting boundaries with clients or co-workers
It’s important to set boundaries with both clients and co-workers about when you are available for work and communication. This can be difficult as a freelancer or solopreneur, but setting these boundaries will ultimately improve your work-life balance and productivity. It can also be hard to draw a line between work and personal time when you work from home, but setting boundaries is essential for maintaining balance.
